When I challenged the press release by Special Adviser to Zamfara State Governor on Media and Communucation Ibrahim Magaji Dosara that his images in the release did not reflect the mind of the Governor not many people may agreed with me but God almighty has vindicated my position.
Radio France International Hausa service just aired a new version of interview where the Governor insisted that, he stand by his earlier statement which SA Dosara tries to conscript out and denied as Governor's spoke person.
The Governor shifted his battle sword this time to the most respected Emir in Nigeria. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi of Kano.
He specifically stated that "I still maintained my earlier position that, if people continue perpetrating atrocities unabated they should expect God's repercursion"
He also said "its surprising that the Emir of Kano decided to take to partisan politics and ignored his knowledge of Islam because what I said is strictly a position in the Quran and Hadith".
This is why I emphasized in my yesterday's article that no amount of criticism can change Yari and his position. Atleast with the criticism and confusion his recent interview has generated he supposed to take the part of his lieutanant by showing his remorse and retracting his earlier statement.
Before the Emir reaction to the Governor's statement, i also read in the daily trust newspaper of thursday that the Federal Government has disowned the Governor's statement as well as the Presidency. I ask this question, is Yari more educated than Emir of Kano, people in his second home Presidency and the Minister of Health?
We are waiting for the new version of the interpreted interview of Governor Yari aired by Radio France Hausa Service feom SA Dosara because i know it will generated more reaction especially that he is fighting a well respected Emir of Kano this time around because it is obvious SA Dosara would say that the Governor is quoted out of context.
We the people of Zamfara insisted that fighting the Emir of Kano on meningitis outbreak is not what we want but we need Governor's presence in Zamfara and let him and his aids visit some of the emergency centers and see the level of hardship the citizens are facing.
He said he has done his own part in triying to manage meningitis in the state but we are saying he did nothing because like the popular adage goes "you cant be fighting a war in absentia and claim victory" since the commencement of this outbreak the Governor has been out of Zamfara and it has been an intervention by donors and international organization in our health facilities and yet the Governor is claiming he has done his own part how?
I advise Governor Yari to leave Emir Sanusi alone because fighting istellectuals like Sarki Sanusi would cause Zamfara another version of national disgrace.
ZURU: Beyond The Traditional Borders Of My Political Concerns
Travelling from Niger State through Kontagora or Sokoto/Zamfara States through Daki-Takwas, a first timer on the road would never imagine that a city of historical and demographic importance as Zuru will emerge ahead of the unbearable potholes that images in this update partially represent. To the best of my knowledge, and I travel a lot around to know, hardly do any communities exist in northern Nigeria with road access deprivation like those of Zuru Emirate. Perhaps communities around Gombe-Numan little compare save for the attention the road has been receiving on discussion related to infrastructural deficit and the little physical interventions they brings. The painful thing about the case of Zuru is that the issue of its road is hardly discussed. In my view, the case of access road around Zuru point to the fact that the meaning and essence of political participation need to be redefined in and for the Emirate at local, state and federal levels. The few diversions of Maga-Ri...
