An Ending Solution To The Inability Of Zamfara Govt To Pay WAEC/NECO

The Executive Governor,
Zamfara State
Hon. Abdulazeez Abubakar Yari
Through:

The honourable Commissioner,
Zamfara state Ministry of Education
Hon Mouktar Lugga

I hope this letter meets you well. As an indigene of Zamfara State I'm dismayed by the situation we've found ourselves especially in the education sector, for sometimes now things have been going on very unfavorably in that sector.

Few months back WAEC released its result and not long after NECO followed but unfortunately students from Zamfara state were unable to access the result due to the state government's inability to settle the fees, this unfortunate circumstance is the fourth in a row.

There is hardly any concrete reason put forward to the public for the delay in the settlement, but this delay is causing serious problem to the future of education in Zamfara State.

I wouldn't want to bore you with stories on the implications of this delay because I trust you fully understand its effects. Its seriously causing us to move in a backward pace, spoiling all that has been built and achieved over the years.

I sincerely hope this can be rectified soonest, even though the damage has been though. Its however better late than never.

Today we have the Federal University of Gusau carrying out their post UTME without a single student of 2017 session from Zamfara in attendance, this is a serious gap from a university we host, of which we should have at least 60-70% slot but we might have none as is the case today.

I therefore suggest that if the Zamfara State Education is so expensive and the government cannot foot the bills, then the government should advise parents to begin to pay for their WAEC/NECO fees OR better still ask parents to pay half of whatever that is supposed to be paid by the government. This way students can continue their education and follow their dreams.

I hope my suggestions will be considered.
Yours faithfully

Mohammed Sani Gusau
