SECURITY CHALLENGES IN ZAMFARA: Who Is To Blame?

Security challenges is now a global phenomenon, it has be become a serious concern to every government including those that are technologically advanced and militarily and intelligently mighty. While in the west they are disturbed with the issue of gunmen and terrorism as they call it, here in Africa, in addition to that, there are banditry, kidnapping and marauders. Nigeria is not an exception.

Apart from Boko Haram here in the north, ethnic and religious clashes is the main security challenge, followed by banditry and kidnapping in most of the northern parts. Kaduna, Katsina, Niger, Zamfara are most affected when it comes to banditry and kidnappings. While Kaduna is ahead with kidnapping, Zamfara is leading in banditry.

But the issue is who's to blame for this challenges? Is it the state government whom these atrocities directly taking place in their domain or the federal government that has the sole responsibility of maintaining security in the country?

As far as Nigerian context is concerned, security is in the exclusive list, which means completely lies in the hands of the federal government, but the states complement in making sure the security is effectively provided by way of providing certain equipment and other logistic for the security agents in order to carry out their duties in the respective states.
Security Laxity In Zamfara State: Who To Blame

However, if the security agencies fail to carry out that constitutional responsibilities, the federal government, or the president would first be blamed as the commander in chief whom these agencies receive directives from, then, followed by other stakeholders.

If you are to be just and fair apportion the blame to the President first. Anyone who tries to solely blame the state governments, he's either ignorant or myopically sentimental.

Your personal hatred for somebody shouldn't be your parameter for judging him. I have realised this is what some people are out for, and want us to follow suit.
