The Issue Of Security Challenges Is Not Only In Zamfara State

It is hardly to spend a week in Kaduna without hearing a news about kidnapping innocent souls, released after ransom is paid or killed if not. Sara-suka is the talk of the town in Kaduna state. On daily or weekly basis someone is killed by this syndicate and nothing is done by the government.

When you take Kaduna-Abuja highway, you can't even stop for a minute to ease yourself because of fear of being kidnapped,, despite the presence of security agents everywhere.
Just this week in Niger state, a senior police officer, together with his aide, was kidnapped, and up till now, nowhere to be found.

This is what happened in Kogi state same week, when gunmen gunned down three security agents on their duty, and they have not been traced yet.

Same week in Katsina state, two hoodlums killed a police on duty at the residence of former Inspector General of police Ibrahim Coomasie. They runaway without being apprehended.

The same story applies to Nasarawa and Benue states. They experience daily clashes between Fulani marauders and famers or tribes and many are being killed.

In plateau state this week, despite the presence of even a military division, many innocent souls were killed via ethnic, religious or political clash, and the state still in shock.

The South is even the worst. This is the story everywhere as far as Nigeria of today is concerned.

Our security apparatus and system have failed and needed a total overhaul as it is not in the hands of the state governments but federal.

May Allah see us through.
