The Nigerian Labour Congress , Zamfara State chapter, has given the state government a 21- day ultimatum to resolve all pending labour issues or face industrial dispute.
The NLC described the government as being insensitive to the plights of civil servants in the state.
The state chairman of the NLC, Bashir Muhammad Mafara, gave the ultimatum today during the meeting. With the state executive members of the two labour centers in the state, which held at NLC secretariat Gusau, the state capital.
“The government should as a matter of urgency implement the N18,000 minimum wage to local government employees, and primary school teachers in the state.
The joint meeting of NLC and TUC also advised the state government to pay the backlog of pension and gratuities” to retired workers in the state.
Another burning issue that draw the attention of the labour officials was that of non implementation of promotions and annual increment to the the workers at all level since 2011 when governor yari assumed the mantle of leadership in the state.
