The Cost of Un educated Leader and the Price of Siddon Look - Yusuf Kanoma

By Comrade Yusuf Kanoma

About 3 hours ago, Zamfara State Governor Completed a Friday sermon justifying his stance on earlier comment made in the presidency liking outbreak of Meningitis to sins of the citizens. Expectedly, the comment caught National attention of Media and intellectuals. The Governor was so lucky that people as high placed as The Emir of Kano said something in this regard. I cried in silence. At last I thought, our educated northern and Southern Muslim and Christian brothers realized what we are lapped with by greedy God Fathers as Governor for personal interest.

After all the public outcry, The Governor returned to the State and like always defiant on defending his stance now to the gullible Zamfara State Citizens over the local radio Station. As usual some verses from the Holy Quran were carefully selected by errand Ulamaas on the Government payroll. The Governor parried ignorantly on many issues with a chilling outcome, subjects that will require His Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to have a day of research before delving into them in public with all his Kings College, Banking and Sudan Islamic Education thorough bread.

The blunders are too many to respond to all but for time and space I can’t control my itching fingers to also beret some of the disposition offhand. Like always, the citizens are lured to be faithful that all which befalls human is divine. Problem is I am sure the Governor is having his ADC, CSO, Chief Detail, and other armed subordinates well placed behind Him. Why is he not faithful enough to arrive to the venue alone on okada. By Allah, in that event I promised to give him a dirty slap and remind him that it was ordained that I will slap him so he should be faithful.

The Governor reiterated his position that the affliction of Meningitis in Zamfara is proportional to the sins we are committing including fornication, sodomy, Deceit, and lies. Wonderful. I am sure I know northern States in terms of characters far more than Yari. If his theory is anything to go bye, then Zamfara is to be least afflicted with Meningitis. As we speak, Zamfara is one of the lowest States with the characteristics above both in number and percentage except perhaps lies. Brothels, Bear parlors, Cinemas, Casinos etc that are associated with those sins are almost History in Gusau. Only few privileged most of who are close to the Governor has the financial capacity to visit those spots in Kaduna Sokoto and Kano over the weekends. Equally, I wonder where the governor got his Statistics. It will be interesting to know what is the percentage of fornicators, sodomists and bottle hitters in Zamfara, It will be interesting to plot a graph of comparism with our affliction to give this theory a scientific outlook. Beside all this, all the enumerated sins are crimes by Zamfara laws. With this information at the Governors disposal whose duty is to ensure law obedience the task of stopping them lies with him.

Yes Zamfara can earn a medal when it comes to lies competition. In this issue I concur with His Excellency position because He is a great liar. He mentioned formation of committees and earmarking of Hundreds of millions for wok on Meningitis. I can vet my last breath that he is lieng without a single check. In Sokoto State Our nearest neighbor, with Danfodio tomb and horde of Islamic Scholars they had an emergency response team in all the LGAs of the State with a quarantined hospital in each and The Spacious General Murtala Hospital for the State Capital. Many thanks to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Dr kakale The Commissioner for Health that works around the clock visiting those centers. You can order for my arrest for calling you a liar and promise breaker, I don’t care because you are one of the best I ever knew. Otherwise what happen to the 1,400 employed graduates in the state, the promised salary increase for workers, The promised Bureau for Fulani Affairs, Public Service Reform, Due Process office, Dealing with Senator Saidu Dansadau etc. the list is endless.

Thank God I mentioned Senator Dansadau, One of the few elders to raise their voice against the impunity and complete neglect of the State by Governor Yari. The State from onset was built on a political Islamic myth as succinctly put by His Highness the Emir of Kano. Gullible citizens are always convinced with a distorted theology while the State is Milked dry. Both Senator Yarima and Governor Yari lives in lushy exotic choice Houses in Asokoro and Maitama respectively, eat the best food, ride the best cars, visits the best destinations for holidays and medical care and only comes once in a while to tell us, we that live without light, in mud houses, no access roads, Drinking water, Health care and ravaged by series of diseases that we are to be faithful and pray? If any militant group is given a choice of where to attack in Gusau, between the Military Barack and The Central Zawiyya where do you think they will choose? Of course there is little prayer in Barrack and plenty of it in Zawiyya but in the Barrack they are up and doing over self-protection. Before we pray we will act first and then pray. We are now ready to talk no matter what price we will pay.

Our sincere Gratitude to the Media especially the print in the Nation and other opinion leaders like His Highness the Emir of kano that made the this issue a priority. We needed your support for a change of policy direction through public commentary for the good of the common man especially less informed. To the Governor I wish to advise him to consult always before opening his mouth. He should accept his major challenge as lack of capacity and never wants to admit. Rather, he replaced it with brinkmanship and arrogance to cover his shortcomings. In life you can never be what are not. Calling a spade a spade never reduces the value of a fork. Lies never bear fruits it only produces beautiful bud and flowers period. Otherwise, with due respect, I command the Governor to shut up and stop embarrassing the State, The North and Islamic Ummah.
