Two issues are currently burning in my mind which make me to give my input on social media discuss . The first is NLC total shut down of zamfara state and the imprudent attitude of zamfara state Governor, the second is the current inevitable violence in southeastern region of Nigeria.
Am not an intelligent or security agent but the gruesome images of Northern extraction emerging from southeastern part of the country are highly despicable and stand to be condemned. From what is currently going on one can predict the reprisal attacks may likely to occur sooner or later.
From the history of previous ethno-religious crisis from 1966 sardauna cold blooded murder, down to 1992 kaduna ethno-religious crisis, the plateau state ethno-religious conflict and recents fulani herdsmen attacks we can deduced how the chains of reprisal attacks can be cooked up.
The macabre images circulating over the social media could be the Genesis and the reason is not far-off because as people recognise their relatives been summarily butchered mercilessly the temperament will go completely haywire.
I strongly believed in Nigeria intelligent agencies (DSS, DMI and NIA) in their intelligence gathering, documentations and reportings but always taking a decisive measures remains kibosh until the situation became unmanageable.
Mr. President and security council members should do a needful to avert selective extermination of Northerners in the East and possible reprisal attacks of innocent igbo merchants in North.
International laws defined sovereign state as having a permanent population, defined teritory, one government and the capacity to enter in to relations with other sovereign states.
Nigeria fit in to the said definition therefore for a part of Nigeria teritory to declare it's independent it must follow the due process of constitutional ammendments and referendum not by violence or on social media threatening corporate coexistence of our nation or dissing Mr. president.
According to armed forces Act 2004, 1(3) the armed forces shall be charged with the defence of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by Land, sea and air. Same Act 53 (1) A person subject to service law under this Act who, knowing that mutiny is taking place or is intended - (a) fail to use his UTMOST endeavour to SUPPRESS or PREVENT it; is guilty of offence under this session. Going by what Nnamdi Kanu was uttering is as good as plotting a mutiny against Nigeria state hence if forces council allow him they shall be guilty under session 53 (2) which is life imprisonment.
Therefore prescribing "operation python dance" is a bit lenient because traditionally we knew python sleep alots unlike carpets viper (Echis ocellatus)which is always ready to strike, the operation might be more scary if tagged "operation viper moves". Am not against self determination by igbos but the modus operandi of Nnamdi Kanu is not proper way of actualisation of Biafra state. They proclaimed marginalisation but in real sense who marginalised who economically?
Who owns pharmaceutical, Automotive and furniture merchandise in the Northern and south West? Who owns Luxury hotels and breweries in the North and who owns churches in the North. Perhaps the marginalisation was from their mistrust to them selves or political miscalculations.
In conclusion I want to call on my Northern brothers that those IPOBS miscreants are not representing the identity of "Northern Igbos" that peacefully coexisted with us, and it's unislamic for attacking innocent people or destruction of their properties in the north.
