What is trending now concerning the issue of Abdurrasheed Abubakar Maina on his reinstatement and disengagement is a clear parameter to assess the level of control President Muhammadu Buhari has over his cabal.
It is now established that the president had not been informed before Maina was recalled and reinstated, and as a result, he directed his immediate disengagement from the service after the issue went viral on social media, according to his spokesperson.
The honourable minister of interior, Gen. Abudurrahman Dambazau, in his official statement from the ministry also claimed that Maina was only posted to his ministry from the office of the head of service of the federation. He's not aware of the circumstances surrounding his recall. And we just heard last evening via official statement from the office of the head of service of the federation denying playing any role in Abdurrasheed Maina's recall.
The Director DSS, Lawal Daura has some issues to clarify on how Maina was smuggled into the country despite being declared wanted by DSS, INTERPOL, EFCC and other security agencies in the country.
Gen. Dambazau or interior ministry has to produce the letter of posting emanated from the office of the HOS that accompanied Maina to the ministry.
According to Sahara Reporters, Gen. Dambazau did the diplomacy, Lawal Daura provided the security and AGF Malami wrote the legal advice that got Maina reinstated.
In this saga, one thing remains evident, that it has caused embarrassment to the president, his hard earned integrity and his war against corruption. And I also begin to believe the existence of a powerful cabal that surrounded him which he has no control over them or deliberately allows them to perpetrate their evil acts under his watch at the expense of Nigeria and Nigerians.
This is if the president swifts the issue again under the carpet without punishing the actors and managers of this incidents.
