Don't be deceived. IPOB and Kanu, like Ojukwu before them are engaged in the most hideous of propaganda to cause national mayhem and anarchy.
The pictures and videos circulating online, of the inhuman treatment against their members by the soldiers, and the ones showing attacks on the Hausa-Fulani community in the Southeast are all shared by the IPOB members with the sole aim of escalating tensions and triggering violent reprisals, from both sides.
In fact, some of the pictures and videos they are circulating are the ones from the Ife clashes and others of about two years ago involving cultists clashes in Southeast and the NigerDelta.
The Northerners should be reminded that in the North today, there are millions of full blown third generation Igbo who have no idea how the Southeast looks like, or what this Kanu's madness is all about.
Their grand parents and their parents have investments across all sectors of the Northern economy, have property all over the place; they have nothing to do with IPOB or Nnamdi Kanu. They are full blown Northerners and citizens of Nigeria.
We should not lose our bearings, fall into the hands of mischief makers, and inadvertently advance their dastardly agenda by continually forwarding and sharing these gruesome pictures and videos.
I subscribe to the campaign now going on, that we should be our brother's keeper irrespective of religious and ethnic background. Protecting the peace is also in our enlightened self-interest, particularly now that the agricultural boom has beckoned.
May Nigeria win at the end of the day.
