A two- day workshop for selected stakeholders in the education sector ended with a state policy document on school based management committee, SBMC, successfully revised.
In his opening remarks the Executive Chairman Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board Honorable Murtala Adamu Matawallen Jangebe,who was represented by the Director Social Mobilization of the board Malam Yusuf Abubakar Mafara, called on the participants to work and come up with clear and acceptable modifications that will be domesticated in the State policy guidelines of the SBMC.
The occasion provided a forum for critical analysis of the national policy on education for domestication and adoption as deemed workable in the state
.
Participants at the workshop, organized by UNICEF, took into cognizance cultural, economic, religious and social backgrounds pf the benefiting communities.

In his remarks the state SBMC chairman Dr. Abubakar Dogo Mafara re-emphasized that the committee was essentially designed to embrace the full responsibility of the entire community through active concerned of the stakeholders.
Speaking earlier the Unicef representative Malam Mustapha expressed the donor agency’s appreciation of priority attention being accorded education sector by the present administration of Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.
The two-day workshop was attended by some directors of ZSUBEB, officials from the state ministry of education, state SBMC chairman Dr. Abubakar Dogo Mafara, representatives of the state council of ulamas Sheik Ahmad Umar Kanoma and Muhammad Aliyu Santurakin Anka, traditional rulers and local government education secretaries respectively.
